Computer Guided Implant Surgery
Computer Guided Implant
Surgery is the one that has evolve the most. Due to the digital incomes,
dental implants have become a more efficient, prepared and studied technique
that has improved the level of his restorations.
* The incorporation of CAD-CAM technology has almost left back
the complicated job in the laboratory, taking advantage of the accuracy that
computer guided procedures have.
The planning of a guided
implantology since the patient is seen for the first time until the
implants are placed includes the following steps:
1. Study and diagnostic wax.
2. Ratio of a scanning appliance that is an exact replica of
the future implant prosthetics.
3. Making a TC with 1 mm slices parallel to the dental arch,
with a scanning appliance in the mouth.
4. Process images taken to perform a reconstruction of the
edentulous dental plan or 3D.
5. Virtual planning of the number, position and angle of the
implants in the software.
6. Decision on the type of guide that will be used in the
surgical procedure. Guides can be osseous support, dental support or mucosal
support.
7. Surgery performed with proper placement in the mouth of the
chosen guide and a drill sequence and inserting the correct implant.
We performed radiological splints whenever we do full
rehabilitations and the amount of remaining bone of the patient is doubtful.
Radiological splints for dental implants are obtained from diagnostic wax and
to identify each tooth with a cut of the CT scan.
